Candidates Announced for the 2026 Legislative Elections

The Left Democratic Federation has finalized the list of candidates who will represent the party in the upcoming legislative elections scheduled for September 23, 2026. This announcement comes as part of the "Left Alliance" formed with the Unified Socialist Party. Following a meeting of the political bureau on August 29, the federation confirmed the official and final list of candidates after reviewing nominations from regional councils and branches, ensuring compliance with the nomination procedures.

The finalized list includes 47 candidates for local electoral districts spread across various regions of the country, alongside seven candidates for regional lists. Notably, in the local districts, the federation has selected Yassine Al-Fassi for the Al-Hoceima district, Osama Benmassoud for Larache, Abdullah Ahssissin for Al-Fahs-Anjra, Yahya Al-Bayari for Mdiq-Fnideq, Idris Aftis for Tetouan, and Mustafa Charnan for Ouezzane.

In the eastern region, Mustafa Adainin will contest in the Jerada district, while Mohamed Kouhkho will run in Jerrif, and Mohamed Talha is a candidate for Figuig. In the Fes-Meknes region, the party has nominated Fatima Zahra Ajmahri for Ifrane, Asmaa Zaeem for El Hajeb, Abdelkader Kamou for Boulemane, Said Tahiri for Taza, Mohamed Al-Hashimi for Taounate-Tissa, and Abdelhadi Hayali for southern Fes.

In the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region, candidates include Khalid Al-Sharif Al-Iyadi for the Gharb district, Abdel-Monsef Hanin for Khmissat-Oulmes, Mahmoud Omar Benjelloun for Rabat-Muhit, Khalid Rahal for Skhirat-Témara, Hamza Bouhlid for Tiflet-Rammani, Idris Hamad for Sale city, and Nour Al-Din Al-Zaïmi for Sidi Qassem.

In the Beni Mellal-Khenifra region, the federation has chosen Al-Tahami Al-Sharqawi for Fkih Ben Salah and Rashid Mchich for Beni Mellal, while in the Casablanca-Settat region, nominees include Hamid Abu Al-Fadhil for El Jadida, Lubna Najib for Al-Fida-Mers Sultan, Al-Hussein Al-Yamani for Mohammedia, Youssef Mebtehil for Naciri, Khalil Al-Idrisi for Berrechid, and others.

The Marrakech-Safi region sees candidates such as Said Lamghari for Safi, Eissa Aarab for Al-Haouz, and Mohamed Raqi for Al-Rhamna. Additionally, in the Drâa-Tafilalet region, Fared Qashni is running in Rachidia, while Al-Haziz Yadir is contesting in Tinghir, and Abdel Ali Naeem in Ouarzazate.

In the Souss-Massa region, candidates include Issam Al-Hamoumi for Inzegane-Ait Melloul, and Mouali Hicham Ashraf for southern Taroudant. Furthermore, at the regional level, the federation has selected Jamila Halwan for the eastern region, Souad Fariqsh for Rabat-Salé-Kenitra, Lubna Halmawi for Beni Mellal-Khenifra, and several others for various regions.

The political bureau of the party emphasized that these nominations are part of their commitment to actively participate in the upcoming legislative elections under the "Left Alliance" with the Unified Socialist Party, highlighting the selection of candidates as a reflection of their dedication to addressing national and citizen issues.
