Following a prolonged weekend marked by Aid al-Fitr, the Casablanca Stock Exchange opened the week amid a climate of hesitation, with its main indices closing close to last week's levels. The benchmark index, MASI, ended the day with a slight decline of 0.04%, settling at 17,236.40 points, effectively erasing its earlier gains as the session drew to a close. Similarly, the MASI 20 index, which tracks the performance of major market capitalizations, fell by 0.02% to reach 1,322.09 points. The market capitalization experienced a contraction, dropping to 963 billion dirhams.

Trading Activity and Notable Stocks

The trading activity was particularly robust, with a total turnover of 542 million dirhams. Leading the exchanges was **Attijariwafa Bank**, which accounted for a significant volume of 155 million dirhams, although it saw a decrease of 0.29%, closing at 690 dirhams. Following closely was **Bank of Africa**, generating 52 million dirhams in transactions, down by 0.68% to 218 dirhams. In contrast, **Managem** experienced an uptick of 1.51%, reaching 8,020 dirhams on a volume of 33 million dirhams.

In terms of performance, **Lesieur Cristal** emerged as a standout, surging by 8.73% to 386 dirhams, while **Sanlam Maroc** also saw a notable increase of 5.38%, closing at 2,290 dirhams. Conversely, **Boissons du Maroc** faced the steepest decline of the session, plummeting by 6.50% to 2,001 dirhams.
