Outrage Over Disturbing YouTube Content in Morocco
On June 3, 2023, a controversial Moroccan YouTuber, known by the alias 'bn nsns', ignited a firestorm of backlash on social media following the release of a video in which he claimed to prepare a stray dog during the Eid al-Adha celebration, one of the most significant events in the Islamic calendar. With over 2.2 million subscribers, the influencer's video showcased him cooking and consuming the remains of the animal amid rising lamb prices, an apparent commentary that many deemed inappropriate and provocative. The clip was removed shortly after it went live due to the intense uproar it caused.
In a subsequent video, the YouTuber clarified that he had not killed the dog, asserting that he found it deceased on the road after being struck by a vehicle. He even shared images of the lifeless animal to support his narrative. However, as reported by the Moroccan newspaper Le Matin, the focus of outrage was not solely on the circumstances of the dog's death but rather on the decision to retrieve its body, prepare it, and broadcast the act to hundreds of thousands of followers on social media.
Viewers took to the internet to label the footage as "disgusting" and "shocking," with many calling for the influencer's imprisonment while others urged animal rights organizations to intervene. Numerous comments highlighted that his actions were seen as a deliberate provocation towards one of Islam's most revered traditions, with some reminding the public that Islamic teachings prohibit the consumption of carcasses.
This is not the first time the influencer has stirred controversy; he previously sparked debates by filming himself eating crocodile and snake meat, exploring caves, and even spending nights in graves. His notoriety peaked in August 2025 when he released footage infiltrating the Chafarinas Islands and wandering through a cemetery housing Spanish military graves, another incident that caused significant uproar on Spanish social media platforms.
