In a significant development on Tuesday, the Public Prosecutor’s representative at the Court of First Instance in Marrakech meticulously reviewed the preliminary investigation reports compiled by the regional judicial police of Marrakech. These reports led to the apprehension of six individuals, including a security officer employed at Marrakech Menara International Airport, a French national, a Moroccan expatriate, a woman, and two other suspects.
Upon examining the content of the reports and interrogating the detainees, the Prosecutor decided to charge five members of the network with forming a criminal gang and engaging in international drug trafficking. The security officer faced more serious allegations, being charged with complicity in international drug trafficking and facilitating the transport of narcotics.
The Public Prosecutor also resolved to refer the entire case to the investigating judge of the same court. On that very day, the judge listened to the six detainees and ordered their remand at the Oudaya prison, scheduling a detailed hearing for them on the 30th of this month.
It is important to note that investigations are ongoing by the judicial police to uncover all parties involved in this network and to bring them to justice.
