Severe Weather Conditions Expected Across Various Moroccan Provinces
According to a recent orange alert bulletin issued by the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM), Morocco is bracing for a significant wave of heat accompanied by thunderstorms, hail, and strong wind gusts. This extreme weather phenomenon is anticipated to occur from Wednesday to Friday, affecting several provinces across the Kingdom.
Temperatures are expected to soar between 42°C and 45°C in regions such as Kénitra, Aousserd, Oued Ed-Dahab, Boujdour, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Tata, Errachidia, Zagora, Marrakech, Rehamna, Sidi Slimane, Khémisset, Ouezzane, Larache, Taounate, Moulay Yacoub, Fès, Sidi Kacem, Meknès, Fquih Ben Salah, El Kelaâ des Sraghna, and Béni Mellal. Additionally, areas like Settat, Sidi Bennour, Youssoufia, Taroudant, Khouribga, Khénifra, Chichaoua, and Salé are also expected to experience high temperatures ranging from 38°C to 42°C during this period.
Thunderstorms and Hail Forecasted for Aousserd
The DGM has also indicated that the province of Aousserd will likely experience intense thunderstorms, projected to occur from Wednesday at 2 PM until Thursday at 2 AM. Rainfall accumulations in this region are expected to range from 25 mm to 40 mm, potentially leading to localized flooding. Accompanying these storms, residents can expect to see hail and powerful wind gusts, which could create hazardous conditions.
