Prophän Unveils New Album 'Ana Lmalhi F Dnoubi': A Journey of Reflection and Distraction

Moroccan artist Prophän, the innovative solo project of Othman Cherradi, has recently launched his latest album titled "Ana Lmalhi F Dnoubi" (أنا الملهي فذنوبي) on July 17, 2026, under the Belgian label Antibody. Translated as "I am distracted by my sins," this poignant title is inspired by Moroccan Sufi poetry and encapsulates the essence of Cherradi's experiences following his move from Casablanca to Paris. The album reflects themes of distraction, desire, and a sense of misalignment, embodying a period marked by the artist's physical distance from his roots, a loss of direction, and the gradual disintegration of both creative and personal equilibrium.

Antibody characterizes "Ana Lmalhi F Dnoubi" as a four-year archive that intricately explores various situations and relationships, delving into their lasting impacts on the artist. The work is constructed around a compelling tension between awareness and the absence of resolution, suggesting an impending collapse without any promised closure. According to the label, what remains from this journey is merely a trace, emphasizing the profound yet unresolved nature of the experiences captured within the album.

Production Credits and Artistic Collaboration

Othman Cherradi is the sole composer behind the music featured in "Ana Lmalhi F Dnoubi," with mastering duties handled by Yannick Franck and artwork created by Elsa Stubé, marking a significant milestone as Prophän’s first solo release with Antibody. This Brussels-based label is known for its focus on deconstructed forms of techno, new wave, EBM, industrial sounds, dark ambient, sound art, metal, and noise, positioning Cherradi's work firmly within a diverse and experimental soundscape.

About Prophän and Artistic Evolution

Prophän represents the electronic music venture of Othman Cherradi, who hails from Casablanca but now resides in Paris. Since the late 2010s, Cherradi has been actively releasing music under the Prophän title, showcasing a wide-ranging catalogue that spans hypnotic techno and baroque post-punk. His sonic explorations draw inspiration from industrial influences, post-punk sensibilities, and traditional North African trance music. Notably, in 2021, he released the single "Znaqi Khawya," which poignantly encapsulates a solitary night walk through the desolate streets of Casablanca under curfew, in addition to the EP "Nafssiya Mehtaja" on Istigkeit Records and the album "Those Who Fight In God’s Way" on Khemia Records.

In addition to his work as a musician, Cherradi is the founder of the experimental techno label Rhadâb and co-created Mindless, a series of live events, podcasts, and radio broadcasts with Nova Ouacheb. His artistic journey further led to the formation of Araf in 2023, an experimental project featuring Arabic vocals in collaboration with Joseph Jadam of Maltash. This endeavor blends post-punk, industrial, and Levantine and Maghrebi musical elements, with Araf's EP "Bathrah" being released on Antibody on May 5, 2023. Following this, "Ana Lmalhi F Dnoubi" serves as Prophän's inaugural release with Antibody, continuing his exploration of archival themes infused with Sufi influences.
