This weather phenomenon is anticipated to bring unprecedented temperatures, with forecasts indicating that some provinces could experience record highs ranging between 42 and 45 degrees Celsius. The regions particularly at risk include the provinces and municipalities of Oued Ed-Dahab, Smara, Rachidia, Assa-Zag, Boujdour, Oussard, Wazan, Larache, Taounate, Moulay Yacoub, Fez, Meknes, Fkih Ben Salah, Beni Mellal, Khemisset, Rehamna, Marrakech, and Qalaat Sraghna, as well as Sidi Slimane, Sidi Qasim, Kenitra, Zagora, and Tata.
Moreover, the impact of this heatwave extends to other areas where temperatures are expected to range between 38 and 42 degrees Celsius, affecting locations such as Youssoufia, Rabat, Salé, Khénifra, Taroudant, Khouribga, Settat, Chichaoua, and Sidi Bennour.
In addition to rising temperatures, the weather conditions will not be limited to heat alone; several regions are likely to experience sporadic atmospheric disturbances. Strong localized thunderstorms are anticipated, with rainfall amounts ranging between 20 and 40 mm, along with hail and wind gusts, particularly in the provinces of Oued Ed-Dahab and Oussard starting from 3 PM today until 6 AM Friday. Furthermore, provinces such as Qalaat Sraghna, Al Haouz, Azilal, Chichaoua, Rehamna, and Marrakech will see thunderstorms with rainfall amounts between 15 and 25 mm beginning at 2 PM today until 11 PM tonight.
